I always have strong obsessions towards Toyota Altis. To me, Toyota Altis is more than just a car,it is a representation which reflects the personalities of the person who drives it. The impressions people mould in their mind about an Altis driver are, Altis driver has a intricate sense of detail, he is careful, serious in handling things and he is matured in setting his long term visions. Take a look at the Toyota Altis cars on the road, I am pretty sure what you can see is a very good condition car, so immaculate and tip-top even if that car has already served for 5 years or above. Not because Toyota has injected an "evergreen" formula on its cars, nor Altis driver has gone through a specially shaped and guided traning on car care, it is a firm verification of the fact that Altis owners have a set of common traits those I have described above, intricate sense of detail, careful...

Toyota does not take much risk in making a huge change in the 2008 Altis compared to the previous model. Delivering the most stable, proven and reliable technology is always Toyota's first priority in its business profile. This is probably why they do not instill the most sophisticated elements into their car as much as what other car companies do in order to compete with Toyota for their fair share of the market. And yet, it draws tons of buyers to it. I remember there was one time when Jeremy Clarkson put a series of stress tests on an old Toyota Hilux as part of their monkey business. A test pick up truck was dropped from a high rise building, abandoned to a sea to be hit by the strong waves, crashed to an poor old tree...At the end of the tests, they still managed to start the engine and drive it. What is it left to question as far as Toyota's reliability is concerned?

Fire Fly

Me and Miho took our virgin Firefly to Langkawi recently to make comparisons between the two big time players in budget airlines industry of Malaysia (Air Asia). In term of flight fare, the two companies were not much difference. Since we have never been on a Fokker Jet before, we would like to get a different flying experience. Many would think Fokker, which is powered by the properller engines, is less safer than those Boeing or Airbus fleets, which are mostly used by Airasia to serviced their routes. Actually it is a wrong perception... The safety level of Fokker Jet is not much different. Guys, here are my most valuable reviews:

The Pros

1. Firefly operates at Subang Airport, which is only used by few airline companies. The airport has only around 20 take-offs and landings per day, it is less crowded.

2. Compared to LCCT, Subang Airport is nearer to KL town, you save traveling time to the airport.

3. The Fokker plane used by Firefly is small, it can only accomodate 50 passengers, boarding and unboarding take lesser time.

4. The seating is organized during check-in, no need to rush to get the best seat during boarding.

The Cons

1. Since Fokker is a small private jet, it has lower capability in handling turbulance, the flight experience is more bumpy.

2. The space is limited, the stewardess butt will always brush on your shoulder when they walk pass you. (For me is one of the cons)

Test Drive Session

Someone loaned me a BMW 320i SE over one of the luckiest weekends of my life. It was one of the important recognitions indicating that my driving skills were accepted by someone :p . I am not as qualified as Paul Tan, but I am sure many shares the same experience of driving a Beemer as I do.

To me, the feeling of driving a Beemer was: there was no feeling at all... Why? The ride was so smooth, I could'nt even feel the engine roaring when I floored the pedal so rigorously, the car was soooo quiet, I could say that, there was no engine noise at all. The gear transmission was sooooo smooth and so fast that I couldn't even feel it was switching the gear. I could only know how fast the car sprint until I looked at the speedometer and the car around me, which were so much behind me in miliseconds! And not to mention, the facial expression of the "my passenger" next to me, spellbound. I know I talk crap a lot, but his time I AM SERIOUS!

Michael once told me that, his friend, who had a massive accident in a Beemer 2 years ago would never admit that he was over speeding until today. I could understand why, that guy was definitly having a numb feeling in his Beemer too...Ahh, thanks to German Technology.

Teo Boon Keong

I am featuring one of my childhood friends, Teo Boon Keong, the youngest son to the owner of the oldest kopitiam back in my hometown. Living under a kopitiam environment since he was a little boy, Boon Keong has been trained to become a person with great patience and great tolerance. Thanks to all the fussy kopitiam customers in the olden days, who, many were neither friendly nor tactful.

Today, Boon Keong has stepped into a big bang transition of his life, waving bye bye to his childhood, methamophosing himself into adulthood, forming his own family and playing a different role in his life and the society. In which we would pronounce, a matrimony.

Matrimony forms an invisible contract between a man and a woman to help each other in their life, sharing deep thoughts, keeping the torch of companionship burning wherever they go and which ever way they reach their destinations.

There are many phases in our human's life. We were once a toddler, a student, and with a blink of eyes, we get married, become parents and soon, grandparents. Along the way, some of us may miss one of these phases. Probably during the time when we were students, burning midnight oil at studies, some of our friends become school leavers or mat rempits just to impress ladies. Or probably, during the time while some of us are parents, many are still wandering out there, fooling around having one night affairs.

When all of us reach a certain point in time and look back, many may regret as they miss something important from the previous phase, while the others may get to raise their champaigne glasses, celebrate for victory, Boon Keong is one of them.

The dawn of 17th November 2007 marks the most important day in Boon Keong's history book.

On this day, Boon Keong has ignited his engine for a different journey.

Entomophagy

Entomophagy is a culture of human taking insects as food, has been put into practice by the Thais since quite some time ago. Not sure when this practice got started, some says it was a culture being spread from Vietnam during the war between Vietnam and the US.

During the war time, Vietnamese refugees who were hiding in the jungle without food, started taking raw insects as their source of food to survive under extreme starvation. In fact, research has shown that those insects which were taken as food were rich in protein, and they are easier to be digested and more effective in building human cells as compared to normal meat.

Probably this was one of the reasons why Vietnamese managed to kick the US arse to the “Asian Waterloo”??

The person who initiated this Fear Factor, Michael, took up one, and decided to put it back. He "waterlooed" and raised the white flag.

Humans got infected by all kinds of new found diseases without cure everyday...Probably, this is one of the reasons why it is so. Would it cause by Entomophagy? As insects tend to carry viruses? Gosh, i better go for a checkup the sonnest possible...

Have you ever heard of Yoshida kaban?? It is one of the most trendy brands specializes in the design of luggage, pouch, wallet and etc and is one of the youngsters’ “must have” in Japan nowadays. Yoshida wind is slowly blowing towards other asian countries like Hong Kong lately, it is simply a fashion statement now.

I am soooo lucky to get in touch of Yoshida Kaban during the last visit of Miho’s parents. Like Miho, They are extremely passionate persons who bring joys to everyone, with lots of presents wherever they go. Let me “show off “what I have got from them hehe, Porter range from Yoshida, million of thanks to her parents and also her brother for bringing me this all the way from Japan.

I'm not a Plastic Bag

I was at KLCC the other day and something drew my attention, I was so curious to find out why there was a huge crowd of people lining up outside of this particular shop and everyone seemed to be so anxious for something. At first I thought some celebrity was inside the shop doing some shopping and those are his/her fans.

Me and Miho decided to join the crowd to find out what was so interesting in the shop, I found out that many people outside the shop were so annoyed and the guard had to try hard to disperse them. I was all ear to listen to what the people talking among themselves. I heard one said "I have been here since 5:30 am in the morning but out of sudden they said the management decided to stop it..." and another said "It's not fair right, I waited for so long but got nothing..."

At the end, we found out that this is the thing they are after...The "I'm not a Plastic Bag" handbag designed by Anya Hindmarch...

"I'm not a Plastic Bag" is made of material (probably canvas if i'm not mistaken) which is environmental friendly. The orginal price per piece is about 20 USD, and try to check on Ebay, and find out how hot this item is put on auction! The price could be 10 times more expensive and still buyers are swarming torwards it.

In fact, people tumble and fall to get this hot item not even in Malaysia, but around the globe! I hope we would'nt see this item at Petaling street, probably 3 for 10 RM? What do u think?

Green

I like green color in photography and I have taken a number of pictures over the weekend outside of Bangkok at a place where serenity is brought by the combination of green colors with different intensity.To an amateur photo-simply-shooter, green color is very much a decorative element in a my picture, probably green color has a soothing effect to the person who views it, a bad picture will eventually turn out to be better one with the help of lots of green color in it. Don't trust me? Give it a try yourself.

After a week of stressful working days, I reward myself with a breakaway in the green, let's indulge in the Ancient City where the green still prevails...

Sawadeekrup Thailand

I am currently in Bangkok for some not-so-silly-monkey-business here. My impression on Thailand is that, it has the friendliest people in the world who are full of courtesy in showing respect to their acquaintances and also their visitors. You will truly feel that you are someone important during your stay in Thailand. I also notice that Thais don’t differentiate each other by their ethnic groups, they mix around with everyone without considering, what kind of skin color they have and what kind of background they are from, or perhaps, what kind of gender they are… Male, female or? (You know it).

This attitude has been instilled and has become their culture since few hundred years ago, Remember what we studied in history during secondary school time? Thailand was the only country in South East Asia, which had never been colonized by anyone before. Their strategy was through the sincere respect and understanding shown by the Thai King to the “Giants” who came here with the intention to grab their resources.

Water Thief?

Just my assumption

I saw a fire department's water hydrant along the roadside with an additional hose attached to one of the outlets. hmm... I was wondering if somone has attached this purposely to get free water from it. Anyway, just my little piece of assumption. I hope there is a water hyrant outside of my place so that I could get free and strong stream of water to wash my car. Where can I get one of these hoses.

The hose was attached to one of the outlets on the water hydrant. With the other end of the hose hidden under the metal lid, so that no one will see it.

No pain no gain. I am sure the person who attached the hose had made a painstaking effort to open up this huge cover. It is not easy to get free water though...

Let's open the metal lid to see what the hose looks like. Ya, it is a hose, the source of "Free" water

I was browsing through the internet in search for a suitable property to rent on behalf of my friend and there was such eye catching deal for ladies, entitled: "Free Room available for lady in KL/PJ". I thought such offer could only be seen in western countries where casual se x is widely practised, guess what, It has come to our shore, right here!! The Circle of Life

Humans, from all walks of life and all kinds of background, live in a circle which turns repeatedly. No matter who you are, you are required to go through the process of birth, aging, illness and death, and the process will repeat endlessly as long as you stay in the circle. You may leave the circle without having the need to go through the process again but the question is, how? Not many could manage to do that...

Some religions believe that in the circle of life, when a life ends, the spirit will leave the body and enter a new body to start a another new life. He or she will repeat the cycle of birth, aging, illness and death again. The new body could be a human body, or an animal body. The decision on whether the new body is a human body or an animal body, depends very much on how the spirit behaves in the previous life. To leave the circle, you would have to go through a hard time to "cultivate" your spirit and "upgrade" it to a higher level, probably, one in a million could manage to succeed.

Even Elton John buys such idea. In one of his songs, "Circle of Life", he mentions that the circle of life moves us through despair, hope, faith and love. It moves us again and again until we unwind the circle (which means, we no longer belongs to the circle).

Spam

In the cyber world, I would need to clean up junk Emails (spam Emails) every now and then. The worst case is, It has also become my daily routine to clean up the physical mail box at my rented house about once in 3 days. These unsolicited advertisement leaflets will flood the mailbox and keep piling up in the mailbox everyday until I couldn't differentiate which are important and which are not, especially when important mails are mixed in between, eg. Bills, official letters..etc. I would probably leave behind some of the important bills in between the leaflets, which are due.

If there are only few leaflets, probably I will go through the leaflets one by one, but not huge pile of it.What is the effectiveness of this kind of advertisement strategy if the leaflets come flooding the mailbox and nobody is going to read it? Which one should we focus on?

Please, if something has become ineffective, why don't those people do it differently, rather than wasting your timeand our precious resources?

Chinese version of "Play_boy" mag, 龍虎豹

Have you ever heard of a Chinese se x magazine called "Long Fu Pao" (龍虎豹 in cantonese) ?If you perform a direct translation on the title into English, it will be"Dragon, Tiger, Leopard".

Long Fu Pao was a popular se x magazine back in 20+ years when internet was not so widely used as a source for por nos, It was founded by a Hong Kong author, Lam Kwok Kuong (not Lim Kokong, or relative of Lim Kok Wing) in 1984 and immediately gained popularity then.

I remember I found one of these copies at my friend's house, which belonged to his parent about 10 years ago.

Hotel

I can see plenty of hotel parking lots with scenario like this, the cars are parked insidethe car park but the car number plates are covered with something.

These small hotels rent out rooms to couples who want to "have fun" but are too inconvenient to do it at home, and they charge their clients hourly for the rooms, just like the Lover Hotels in Japan.

I would say some may be proper couples, some may be hanky panky ones (probably those with their car number plates covered). Who knows, one day you happen to pass by such hotel, and you see a familiar car parked inside, out of curiosity you open up the number plate only to find out that the car belongs to your husband or wife?

Tell you what, I currently stay at one of these hotels...These pictures were taken when I was on my way to the office.

INFINITI

An INFINITI FX35 SUV being spotted in Taipei when I was off for lunch

Ever heard of one of the car brands called INFINITI? If you heard of LEXUS, which belongs to Toyota, or probably ACURA, which belongs to Honda, you probably would understand the concept of flagship brand, INFINITI.

Like Lexus and Acura, Infiniti is the flagship luxury brand by Nissan which is built for specific car market segments like United States, Canada, South Korea,Taiwan and etc hmmm... there is no such model in Malaysia, not even in Singapore which has a higher affordability in high end vehicles compared to Boleh land. Inifiniti cars are mostly built on the existing platforms of Nissan cars with additional features and also with additional engine performance compared to the Nissan counterpart.

To INFINITI, it is not only about rebadge, it is about bringing higher end products to tailor to higher level of expectations.

My Birthday Present

I received a mysterious birthday present "officially" when 27th of January 2007 kicked in (Exactlyat 12 am midnight). I would say "officially" as I've got it with me one month before my birthday and I have been carrying it around with me wherever I go, It is in my luggage all the time (even now), but I just couldn't open it before that day, and no cheating was allowed.

The "mysterious person" knew that I would cheat, so the present was locked in a Deuter pouch with a pin number padlock and the pin number was not given to me until my birthday...

At 12 am sharp, I was informed of the PIN number.

The present is inside this Deuter pouch, and is locked with "high" security padlock

"073" is the PIN number to open the shackle of the padlock. The curiosity is killing me, as I might receive a sabotage from an enemy.

Tun Dr Mahathir's former home sweet home
Me and Miho made a spontateous decision of visiting the former residence of the ex Prime Minister on our way back from the Lake Garden one day, the spontaneous wind blew and brought us here, Galeria Sri Perdana.

Galeria Sri Perdana was the official residence of Tun Dr Mahathir between 23 August 1983 to 18 October 1999, during this period of time, it was known as Sri Perdana. Entering Sri Perdana has been one of my dreams since 10 years ago when my brother-in-law told me about this place. A lot of "mysteries" have been unlocked after an "unguided" tour to it (You could freely visit any part of this property without much restriction). The most important thing about this tour was, they didn't collect admission fee from us, wow! We saved money for better dinner that night!

Miho told me that her family was once invited by Tun Dr Mahathir to his residence during Hari Raya when she was a little girl and her impression on Tun Dr Mahathir's residence was not the same, she could only remember, a stair with lots of lots of lots of steps...

This house was initially built for someone from the top management in the Malaysia Mining Corporation before it was taken over and renovated by the government to serve as the official residence of the PM.

There are altogether 10 cars being parked outside the house for exhibition purposes, the cars are no longer used. All of the cars were given to PM as his mode of transportation by different companies. Among them are, a Mitsubishi FTO (Given by Mitsubishi Motor Corporation during the official launch of the model in 1995.) a Nissan President (Given by Nissan Corporation Japan).

This was the official car used by PM last time during his duty, which carries the number plate, "Proton 2020". I thought It had been returned to Proton last year. Seriously, this car really carries high exhibition values.

Proton GEN 2 Encounter

I was walking on the street in Taipei one day and something familiar caught my eyes. There was a Proton GEN 2 being parked along the street, with Taipei registered number plate. Out of sudden, I could smell the aroma of our national pride.

A Proton GEN 2 in Taiwan almost shares the same price tag as SUZUKI Swift in Taiwan (About RM 60,500), Not really sure how they manage to promote the car in Taiwan as Proton does not have the level of technical maturity as high as compared to other cars being sold here.

I guess, probably "Lotus tuned" is their selling point, or perhaps, what Jeremy Clarkson always suggests about proton to his viewer, "My first Lotus"...

You got two options, Suzuki Swift and Proton GEN 2, where would you head for?

Building a strong love relationship is like maintaining the stickiness of a cellophane tape, the more you use the cellophane tape to stick on different type of surfaces, the less sticky it will become, until it can no longer stick on any surfaces again. The same theory applies to relationship, the more you flirt around with different people, the distance between you and your loved one will become longer, as you will mold a mindset not to stay with someone for long, u feel bored with someone easily, and you always look for the best person. The mindset is built without you knowing it.

There are contracts for businesseses, non-profit projects, legal obligations, etc, but there can never be a contract for relationship, you can't define how much love you want to ditribute among few people, 25.9% for person A, 33.2% for person B..etc. You can't even define the time frame when a relationship should start and end, it is something so emotional, you will only stay with someone when you are more emotionally secured being with him/her.

Indulge in the Metropolis of Shanghai

Shanghai is one of the fastest growing cities in the world which has a consistent and a super dupa rapid economic growth. There is a very huge gap between the "developed" and the "under-developed" within the city. You may see high rise buildings with modern structures, latest handsome Cadillac driven by young brilliant professionals crusing around, ladies with elegantly sexy and modern clothings... but within a few steps distance, a whole different view may present in the biggest contrast, homeless vagabonds sleeping on the street, old-not-so-in-one-piece bicyles carrying firewoods "cruising" on the street, with old riders in dirty old rags.

People are equally friendly and helpful here, unfortunately, the mindset of some people does not develop as fast as their economy. You can still see spitting, peeing, littering etc around the city, a mindset which belongs to few decades ago.

This is the place specially recommended my Miho, a beautiful historical town in Shanghai, Yuyuan, I love this place as much as she does! :)

Haagen-Dazs and Starbucks Coffee shop being housed within the precious historical structure, a blend of historical impression and modern business, a perfect contrast.

Cheng Huang Temple located in Yuyuan, is the "Guardian" of Shanghai. The temple was built centuries ago to protect the city, especially those fishermen in the sea.

The apartment compound where i stay, I stay in a unit which costs about 1.5 million in RM. Was surprised about the price as this is one of the cheapest units around the area.

The Messy Water Birthday Splash

Finally, We were back for a birthday gathering again after 6 months we haven't seen each other! It was Ah Man's brithday dinner, thanks to the homemade steamboat dinner, the card game, tricky kiddie card magics and couple of drinks at a cosy enviroment, thank to this combination, which has made the night livelier! A game started before the birthday dinner, it was named "Quest to the real venue", I was cracking my head solving the quest, Jalan Awan Cina was the only clue given to me...

Proton Satria Neo Test Drive

One beautiful Saturday afternoon, me and my housemate, Zen went to Proton Edar headquarters located in Subang USJ to test drive the latest Proton Satria Neo for fun. Hmm.. as long as malaysian made cars are concerned, I would always think that Perodua surpasses Proton in term of the quality of the cars they produce.

Zen was posing with our "appetizer" before the actual meal (Proton Satria Neo) =). This is the most beautiful cross SUV I have come accross so far. Damn sporty inside and out! Lotus APX...

Another "appetizer" - Lotus Europa S, hmm.. I personally think that this type of car would never be my taste, the first reason is, it is too impratical, 6-digit price tag with 2 doors, the second reason is, it is ugly and looks damn "show off".

Proton Satria Neo! The front headlights keep reminding me of the previous model of BMW 3 series.

Neo's butt - Proton has started to put the exhaust pipe of their new models in the centre, not sure what is the significance of it. As the picture shows, Zen keeps complaining about the fact that the petrol lid of Neo is made of "pelasitik". Very very delicate.

The sporty "white elephant" which is not in production, only a decorative item in the showroom. The interior of this decorative item is a bit "ah kua" to me, damn sissy.

Zen could hardly enter the car, I would say that the space of Satria Neo is really limited, this is due to the reason that the length of the dashboard has been extended compared to the previous model, as the mater of fact, the space of the car in whole is really small, it will be even harder for someone chubby to stuck the body into the car

Look at the remaining height between the your head and the roof, better wear a helmet if the ride is too bumpy.

The dashboard, simple and nice looking. 1.3 model comes with CD player while 1.6 model comes with CD + MP3 player. The player is custom-made for Neo and can only be fitted on Neo, thus, reduces the desire of CD player thieves to steal it.

The boot, what can you put in such a limited volume? Gosh...!

Enough for Neo, here comes the new face lift of Waja, they have shifted the Waja logo to the center.

Unveiled... Gosh! what is this?! Now i understand why people always say that the new face lift doesn't necessarily mean improvement in the look! If you got a guun, please fire at me!

The head lamp: It looks nicer than the previous version of Waja, hmm... a little consolation over the ugly tail lights.

The feeling of driving a Neo is very close to driving a Waja as the stability is good. According to Effendy, the sales consultant, the handling of Neo is only 15% different from a real Lotus car. They have also included a very good selling point to the car, which is the feature of "drive by wire" technology, a technology used in Air craft. "Drive by Wire" is being applied to Neo's oil throttle to replace the common cable system found on most of the cars. Hmm... I recently found out that the latest accord is using this technology as well.
If you are a family man, this car wouldn't be your choice as the space is really limited. On the other hand, if you prefer something sporty, good handling with affordable price tag, you may want to consider Neo. :)

Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Triang, when was the last time you took a close-up look at it?

Hello all, thanks for dropping by...I was invited by Mr. Shee, who is one of the representatives from PIBG Sekolah Menengah Triang (oops, it is Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Triang now, not sure when the name was changed @##!$), last Sunday to get some snapshots of the brand new look of Sekolah Menengah Triang, It previously looked nothing but a prison in a cowboy town and I was really amazed by the changes taken place all these years, wow! I am now more confident to tell people out there that i went through my secondary education here rather than telling people that "I no go school" (too shameful to tell people where I came from).

A "Pondok Kawalan" can be seen right in front of the main gate. Visitor must go through proper security clearance, eg: Visitor pass before entering the school premises. "Oi! lu mau pergi mana!!" is the greeting you would most probably hear if you go in without permission.

Rules of thumb to ensure that your safety as a student is warranted, how many could you abide by?

A special walkway for students after school dismiss, i remember we would have to walk on the busy main road during our time, the safety of the students is more prioritized these days.

Zoom out a bit, you will find that this classroom looks familiar, guess what, it was 5S1 during our time......The spirit of messy water was once "splashed" here.

The arrangement of the seats in the classroom have changed as well, it is now totally a different look and feel. Whenever i see this type of arrangement, there would be something in my mind which i hate most....EXAM!

I did my wood work for Kemahiran Hidup subject here, Bobby had requested 6 pieces of woods to build a "present" for a teacher named Marlboro.

Exams are close, it makes me feel as if it is a time bomb, which is waiting for its time to explode!

They have a good system for students and teachers to report disiplinary issues via SMS.

Here stands the a 3-storey high new building, hmm...not really sure what this building is for, i refered to the person who escorted me, Mr Shee, his answer was "Wa hmm zai.." (maybe it is a scientific term, it seems to be hokkien to me in whatever ways.keke just kidding.)

I know they have been trying hard to renovate this building, but to me, still looks scary.......

I noticed that they put a CCTV and an announcement speaker at the canteen, not really sure what they are for, i assume that they might need those things to monitor students who over eat and thus, to reduce obesity problem in students nowadays, if you over eat and the CCTV detects it, a warning alarm will sound at you!

Pencinta Alam Club owns a garden as well, according to Mr. Shee, each of the trees here costs about RM 50 per tree, all sponsored by the community in Triang.
